Brandee Younger makes beautiful contemporary hip hop jazz harp music and Nala Sinephro does experimental harp jazz (a bit more electronic - and did the soundtrack for that recent The Rock MMA movie nobody saw). All three ladies are phenomenal. And this is all a new genre for me 😊

Music discovery = 💖. I’m 43. This past year or so I got into jazz for the first time. I *never* liked jazz (too frenetic). Then I discovered Dorothy Ashby Afroharping and it changed everything. Featuring a harp makes jazz work for me. That led me to current harpists Brandee Younger and Nala Sinephro

I hope that type of shit still happens for folks. Not only with Pink Floyd but with other great music. I think about that when I see those amazing reaction videos of younger people listening to older music for the first time. Music is such a core joy for us all.

The first time I experienced Pink Floyd was at a laser light show at the planetarium I think summer after graduating high school or summer before senior year. That was a great introduction. It started with Shine On You Crazy Diamond part I. Played through many songs. When part II played later… 🤯
