you can bring friends, join an existing organization, or claim your own. there's a low minimum time commitment, players are not expected to check in more than once a week and the game is structured to support that

travel forward is much easier: just phase out until the aether-time catches up to you

this model is intended for short jumps during active combat with no hidden information, but you can probably adjust it to allow for more roleplay. if you’re a DM, you can nudge the situation to simply ensure that B learns the information that A arrived with

the last option is that B dying creates a paradox such that A has to go back instead (creating a self-loop, but that’s a normal time travel trope). if they both die, [something bad happens] (mechanically i like ‘whole team takes paradox damage’)

B dies? we could say (as above) that A came from a different timeline but that feels less time-travel and more dimensional. plus then why does B even have to leave? i think the cooler answer is that B simply can’t die. knocked out and mortally wounded? sure. but time travel heals

B is wounded (or changed in some way)? A should have appeared with that wound, so we say either that time travel has healing properties or that A came from a timeline where she wasn’t wounded. this applies to ability cooldowns, stats, whatever other state a character has

this can be done in a game! mechanically, it’s a clone spell where the original disappears after a short time. the issue is that many things can happen between T1 and T2. Remember that B is fated to go back in time and A will continue.

A dies? no issue, coherent timeline

when both jennys reach T2 for the second time, Jenny B disappears back to T1, but Jenny A continues on. From her perspective, the path of one jenny is T0-T1-T2-T1-T2-T3. What does it look like as an observer?
0: One jenny
1: Another jenny arrives
2: the original jenny disappears
