For sub 30 episodes a lot of slightly older animes work! I rec How to Keep a Mummy, Tanaka-kun is Always Listless, Princess Tutu , and Kino’s Journey. Romcom series tend to be 1-2 seasons, too (like Wotakoi)
If you want to *binge* binge then there’s Detective Conan :D very episodic much murder

Yeah most official danmei are wuxia (/historical), with a bit of modern mystery and one interstellar (lil mushroom). I don’t think any of upcoming haitang is western fantasy, either :(( (the titles are really good, tho!)

I don’t fully remember the plot of No.6, but listing the story with LGBT+ under(over?)tones and immediately following it up with actual danmei is amazing

Western books I wouldn’t know of any but in terms of danmei there’s The Reader and Protagonist Have to be in True Love , and the Icy Hero is Yearning for Love. Both are western fantasy setting and have completed translations online! It’s not complete but I also like Nurturing the Hero to Avoid Death
