The Beeb has been leaning right for the last decade. Their continued embracing of false equivalence for "balance" has been at the heart of so many issues including Brexit, climate change (a quack legitimised when arguing against a published academic on air) and even with health. It's deeply sad..

The prime reason why I cancelled by subscription. The normalisation of the absurd, cruel and voraciously corrupt needs to stop.

Utterly useless as usual: if the regulator can’t police the boundary between news and propaganda when politicians are hosting, then the integrity of broadcast democracy is truly at risk.

Same chatter that said "Trump would never ..." and here we are. This complacency and normalisation is dangerous and amplifies the message 10x.

My personal view- I want Labour to not screw up so that we don't end up with Reform. They are a disaster. But, we can't discount their polling and the rise of the right leaning parties across the world. Trump's MAGA will bankroll him hard. Depressing but entirely possible and likely probable.

He's no longer semi-naked- if you watch carefully, he's now wearing a t-shirt!

More vote splitting and more room for Reform to win. Farage looks like a lock-in for PM going by the national sentiment. Labour have communicated incredibly poorly and look set to mess up their time in govt.

Why underestimate England? They've been successful playing this way- why not let them try and see if they can pull off a heist on an absolute road or a wicket.

what if instead of just raw stream numbers, we had a momentum chart, something based on first-time listeners, playlist adds, actual discovery. would be nice to see new bands get a shot, not just the usual suspects every week... just a thought to at least address the problem in part.

The funny thing is, nobody has seen a single benefit of Brexit and yet people complain- it's utterly confounding. I don't love what Labour have done so far but they've got trade right: deals with the US (in a limited way), India and the EU now. Pretty solid going for just 12 months in power.

This take is as ridiculous as the article.

Good analysis and great point on how much energy is wasted on relatively small economic exposure. Nevertheless, look at each of these in isolation is not looking at the downstream effects of immigration as well. I'm all for immigration but we need nuanced analysis. However, your point remains valid

Apart from the irrelevant Tories and the 0.01%, does anyone else actually care about the Telegraph and their cartoonish takes on anything at all?

Great that she wants to take us back to the 70s, that she wants Cruella in Reform, that fossil fuels > climate & that illegal migrants are all bad and that blocking a few thousand people will solve our issues. "Dame" Andrea already showed us what she thinks of the British people with one finger...

Waiting for the UK government to say this and try it's own goal after own goal...
May 4, 2025 at 11:54 AM
Sadly the UK is going in a different direction with Reform making giant strides in the local elections.
May 3, 2025 at 2:58 PM
Voters are upset at Labour, who must unshackle from orthodoxy and build a positive, uniting narrative. The Tories are becoming irrelevant with clueless Kemi at the helm. Reform have no policies just rhetoric. Labour could truly seize the day if only they were bolder and not placating everybody.
May 2, 2025 at 11:23 PM
Are people seriously this stupid? Labour continue to be super defensive instead of building a message of positivity and growth. Christ, I'm worried the UK will go down the same path as the US at the next election if the Labour strategists cannot come up with any viable message.

Crazy- we have no idea how this will impact children and have run no studies. There's developmental impact (social and academic), privacy issues and, furthermore, they'll be steeped in the AI's bias. Totally insane- looks like don't be evil has had the be removed...
