On the gripping hand, historical coins were rarely minted of a pure, unalloyed metal. A coin that is commonly *referred* to as 'copper' might actually be bronze; similarly, copper was frequently added to silver and gold coins. The alloy makes a more durable coin. 3/?

If, on the other hand, the intent was to model an ability that dwarves have evolved to detect ores commonly used in the minting of coins, then maybe I'd say no, because brass and bronze to not often occur in nature. 2/?

Electrum seems like a clear 'yes' to me, being as it's a natural alloy of gold and silver. Beyond that, I think one would have to consider the intent of the ability. If the intent is to find coinage, then probably I'd say 'yes' to brass and bronze also. 1/?
