this is a really funny statement considering that those "DSA punks" have been (rightfully) criticizing AOC for her defense of the Israeli Iron Dome, like no! they would not be genuflecting for her either, we shouldn't be genuflecting for any politician, really. also hunter didn't get us $30 insulin
July 23, 2025 at 1:38 AM
there was no genocide? tens of thousands of children dead and that doesn't count as a genocide to you?
July 6, 2025 at 1:09 AM
is "slagging" harris for not doing anything about a goddamn genocide really that reprehensible to you? blind loyalty is how we got into this mess and how we got biden and clinton in the first place
July 6, 2025 at 1:06 AM
(and we see this in mamdani winning the latino vote!)
July 6, 2025 at 1:05 AM
like both mexico and brazil, the largest countries in latin america, now have socialist governments because it turns out the people actually do like socialist policy

same would go for those who came here before they came to power
July 6, 2025 at 1:05 AM
zohran is also technically only supported by NYC, the national org doesn't have to endorse for someone to be a part of it
also, when a lot of latinos came here they were fleeing neoliberal hellscapes, acting like they're anti-socialist is only a conclusion you could come to extrapolating from cubans
July 6, 2025 at 1:04 AM
under 30 is so outdated. in the polling it's under 45, and people under 45 made up the majority of the electorate in the primary in NYC! turns out if you motivate people to vote by actually believing in something they come out to vote
July 6, 2025 at 1:00 AM
i'd say it's worth it to join! can't speak to SWERFs however, haven't encountered any myself but it'd be chapter by chapter

NYC-DSA also is a very unique chapter in many ways (large influx of members due to Zohran, controversial w the rest of the org) but. still worth checking out again and seeing
July 6, 2025 at 12:58 AM
AOC still calls herself a socialist, is still endorsed by NYC-DSA, and is still a member of the organization
July 6, 2025 at 12:32 AM
his father's parents were from uganda and his father grew up and was raised there, raising his child there too
July 6, 2025 at 12:31 AM
did you screenshot my own reply and then reply to me with it 😭

and national offices take time! winning a federal election takes organizing on a level that you have to practice with first

and "socialism" isn't a bad word anymore, especially not for young people

it's not 1991 anymore
July 6, 2025 at 12:29 AM
quite a few of them already are (one of the larger caucuses in the org is the Libertarian Socialist Caucus and they have a lot of anarchists (but also leftcoms and communalists and libertarian marxists), they rock) but yes it's going to be fun to see
July 6, 2025 at 12:28 AM
harris didn't come in third in dearborn what are you talking about, she got second in the city
and dearborn isn't representative of leftists, dearborn is a pretty conservative arab-american suburb of detroit
July 6, 2025 at 12:18 AM
endorsement is different than voting. endorsement is saying that you believe that this person broadly aligns with your values whereas voting for someone is choosing the lesser of two evils
July 6, 2025 at 12:05 AM
are you going to actually make a point or just be a condescending asshole
July 6, 2025 at 12:01 AM
am i wrong? or are you just going to act condescending? the people in the house who voted to dismiss impeachment charges were for the most part funded by AIPAC! www.axios.com/2025/06/24/t...
House Democrats join Republicans to kill vote impeaching Trump over Iran strikes
Rep. Al Green moved to impeach the president for unilaterally striking Iranian military facilities.

they voted for her! they refused to vote for *Biden* in the primary
July 5, 2025 at 11:59 PM
how am i being irresponsible? by wanting leaders who actually would change shit for the better instead of the ones who brought us into this mess? i voted for harris! i did my part! i convinced my friends who were skeptical to do so regardless of their qualms because Trump was worse
July 5, 2025 at 11:58 PM
why did she say she wouldn't have done *anything* different than Biden would have? www.cnn.com/politics/har...
she said herself she couldn't think of any gripe or issue she had with the biden administration
Harris says there’s not much she’d have done differently than Biden over the last 4 years | CNN Politics

and AIPAC is one of the strongest reasons why that is happening! they funneled hundreds of millions of dollars into Republican and collaborationist Democrat campaigns!
July 5, 2025 at 11:55 PM
if harris was going to do anything about it she would have done something in the 4 years she was vice president! and there's not even an argument to be made of if she was in power she would have done something different, when asked if she would have done anything different than biden she said *no*
July 5, 2025 at 11:54 PM
you don't care about tens of thousands of children starving in gaza? what is wrong with you
July 5, 2025 at 11:36 PM
"ceasefire was necessary" was only after the uncommitted movement

and acting like empty platitudes to a twostate solution mean anything. she was vice president! she could have pushed the administration into forcing a ceasefire considering the united states is basically the only thing funding israel
July 5, 2025 at 11:33 PM
to add that additional information you have to check the black/african american box on the form

i don't think personally that he should have! but acting like a thing he did on a random college app 15 years ago (especially since there's clear reasoning as to why) is disqualifying is silly
July 5, 2025 at 11:30 PM
that activist club with electoral aspirations ran a disciplined political machine campaign in NYC with 50 thousand volunteers, did it not?
