MSL and HUGO are definitely not going to burn Monty so easily. He is the experienced guy they need to share the GK duties... They know (and have seen) what Monty is capable of in the NHL, and are working to support him to get back to it.

Ok grumpy, PLS consider adding value to #gohabsgo chats here on bluesky, instead of dramatic reactions to hype & clickbait/media posts.
Truth is, Monty has exceeded expectations playing in MTL. #Habs need an experienced 1B GK to mentor & support kids. MSL is working toward that goal.

He is the same player & has evolved (as many do) from an 18 y/o kid, to a 21 y/o man with new experiences and a growing confidence.

My 'semi-intelligent' thoughts:
- It seems the #habs Michael Hage should be drafted higher than #21 in a NHL 2024 re-draft, with his excellent NCAA & WJC performaces, and much hype.
- BUT how many earlier picks have changed? Hard to say, but both Lindstrom & Catton likely have fallen below him.

Lovely in theory - except most players state that it’s way too demanding to play 10 minutes of three on three OT for key players.

The reason is simple. OLG is expecting $2.6 BILLION this year from gambling.
Try to convince the ON government (& voters) not to increase revenues due to some minor (!!) concerns of societal issues like addiction and social welfare. 🤷🏼♂️

Adding young veterans is needed, but it must be hard for KH to deal given the volume & qualities of prospects in the #Habs pipeline!
But really, there is more need to consolidate multiple redundant player types, levels & draft picks into just 1 or 2 young stars (e.g. Dobson).

One key issue to be wary of is the notion of #habs moving out an experienced NHLer, like Carrier, to be replaced by a 21 y/o rookie - on a team that already has the YOUNGEST player age on average in the NHL.
