Kiddo (age 5) is currently at a stahe where if I tell her someone is my friend or her auntie, she will love and trust them wholeheartedly on my word alone. It is both precious and frightening, and I will continue to screen who she gets to spend time with accordingly.

I'm so privileged to have a mom who wasn't my friend as a kid. Because she was more concerned with being my mom when I was growing up, she's able to be one of my ride-or-die besties now.

Context: 5yo has a speech delay that makes "three" and "feel" sound the same when she says them.

Story: kiddo just came out of the kitchen with three slices of ham and said "I'M THREE HUNGRY!" and was so proud of the pun she made, even though she doesn't know what the word pun means

Munchkin: watches Scooby Doo (for her the equivalent of a horror show, she's 5) in the dark to make it spookiest.

Also Munchkin: has to have a battery operated lantern on next to her, "make it not too scary" because somehow a 5yo being lit by a lantern makes things *less* creepy

What unhinged thing is my overtired five year old tantruming over currently? She can't smell her own breath.
