“You are my king now, cariad.”
#32-36 Cappadonna 1, 2, 2.5, 3 & 3.5 by Jahquel J.

This season of the series dragged a bit for me once I got to book 3. It didn’t lack anything but there was too much of certain things that I feel lowered the quality of the reading experience for me. Love all the mains & enjoyed the action

#31 Our Vicious Oaths by N. E. Davenport

Read an arc. Romantasy. Very grown. Very spicy. Super intense. I enjoyed the overall story and devoured it. Can’t wait to buy a copy

#30 To Be Loved by K. Lashaun

This actually took me a while to get into. Idk if I just didn’t like the pacing of how it started or what, but once I really got into it, I enjoyed the story. The only thing that I can say that bothered me a bit was some repetitive statements in the beginning

#29 Love Spells Trouble by Nia Davenport

I read an arc copy. This story was super cute. I just enjoyed it so much. I felt good while reading and when I was done too. Definitely was refreshing and a reprieve from the intensity of a few of my prior reads this month 🥰

#26-28 Capone I, II & III by Jahquel J

I thoroughly enjoyed this season of the series. Jahquel knows how to keep us on our toes. My only issue was the repetitiveness in some of the writing. It might not bother others but as a former English major, it was distracting at times

#25 Mega Man by Mel Dau

Ik some people like InstaLove and quick romances. I’m not even opposed to those tropes if done right, but this was so unrealistic lol. And it was so quick and it felt rushed. It’s for somebody but just not for me.

#24 Losing Sight by Tati Richardson

This was really cute. Definitely had its funny moments. I loved the dynamics between the love interest and their friends and family. Some of the language used during some spicy moments made me cringe but that’s just me lol

#23 Oathbound by Tracy Deonn

I can’t even put all of my thoughts into a short paragraph here. So much to love. Nothing to hate (but the Shadow King & the Regents lol). Beautifully written. So intentional. I probably felt every emotion while reading.

#22 No Ordinary Love (arc) by Myah Ariel

I loved this book. The MMC was so supportive and reassuring. The FMC was THAT GWORL. I enjoyed seeing her really come into herself and accept her worth. Can’t think of anything I’d change.

I’m not trying to be judgmental but are there really still grown adults who are so scared of having to wear glasses that they will avoid it??? #blackbooksky

#21 Children of Anguish and Anarchy by Tomi Adeyemi (📘3 Legacy of Orisha series)

It wasn’t bad. Certain aspects were good & familiar to the first 2 books, but it’s missing A LOT of details that could’ve fully rounded out the story & made it feel rushed.

#20 Anonymous Acts by Christina C. Jones

This books is exactly what the title says. It’s a mystery until the very end. I could never have guessed where this would go. I enjoyed but it did feel a bit lengthy at times.

#18&19 Two Parts Sugar, One Part Murder & Murder is a Piece of Cake by Valarie Burns

Has 3 📕s & 1 otw. This is a cute, witty murder mystery series. There’s found family & romance. Overall I enjoy even though some details are lil rushed. Does a good job of making everyone seem suspicious

#17 A Mutually Beneficial Arrangement by Christina C. Jones

This was a novella and I lowkey hate when I read CCJ novellas cause I ALWAYS want more just because she’s so good at storytelling. However, I did also think this story needed a little more fleshing

#16 It’s You Every Time by Charlene Thomas

Another arc. This was a very cute story and I loved the plot but the plot ran a little too long imo. Just made it drag a little. I didn’t care for the ending initially until my friend explained it to me, then I understood & accepted it lol

#15 Sunshine With You by Layna James

Got ahold of an arc copy. It’s a good friends to lovers story with a love triangle that’s reasonable and not annoying to read. The MCs kinda reminded me of dimone from AAHC 🥺
