This is one of my vacations in August.

The deadbolt thing didn't work. I don't think the chain would stop someone from kicking the door in.
Maybe it's the that the door isn't sealed and I would die from smoke.

So I don't know what scares me more about staying in a hotel room in foreign countries.

The fact that there is a chain on the door. Or that thing that is supposed to be a like a dead bolt on the room door. @deviantollam.bsky.social know what that is called.
