From pushing 50*F during the day to barely breaking the freezing mark today with a few inches of wet snow; welcome to spring in Alaska! Another month, though, and we should start seeing the Calypso orchids.

Apparently, a lynx came through the yard to pay us a visit last night. The wildlife we’ve had in the neighborhood is amazing. Eagle River, Alaska.

One of the birds I’m lucky enough to have on my yard list; a Merlin (MERL)! They nest in the vicinity, though I haven’t learned where, and I see them fly over through the summer, but this was the first time I caught it perched near the house!
