Vulkan is now fully functional, although it still worked in 4.5, but I missed it. It works without problems and is faster, so that's another reason to upgrade to the new version.

I also checked the compatibility of blend files. Anything modified or created in version 5 can't be opened in 4.2, but it can be opened in 4.5, so if necessary, you can use an intermediate version to open it in the older version.

Steam downloaded 5th version of blender, quickly watched it Importing my settings and addons. The latest session opened with some lighting changes and particle acceleration. I found a replacement for Wiggle 2 - Jiggle Physics, which is its fork and works slightly differently.

While editing new audio tracks for my old video, I needed some phrases, so I downloaded Heroes of the Storm, knowing I might run out of mobile data. It turned out the phrases I needed were already extracted. But I did get a bit of new content, like this cartoon skin for Thrall.

The visual for my first Blender animation is ready and I made a test render in Vegas Pro - it renders very quickly. I also learned how to render a video with a more authentic image so that it doesn't look dark using the Levels filter with the Computer RGB to Studio RGB template.

I'm figuring out how to render animation. Video had 32 samples and 4 shadow rays enabled. It took 30-40 minutes to render and my computer got pretty hot, so I'll try lowering the render settings.

I dug up some photos on my computer of a student exhibition where my clay TMNT 2003 sculptures were on display, when I was 11 years old. My mother brought them to the exhibition when she was still working in college. Unfortunately, the sculptures didn't survive.

I found a suitable option for transform orientation in this case - select Normal or Parent, in transform pivot point select active bone and select the last active bone, in my case Pelvis, and the IK of the hands move together with Pelvis.

I'm trying to get back to creating animations where mostly manual animation is required. Compared to SFM, animating here is extremely pleasant, only each time you have to change the transform orientation from local to global and others.

Another good news is that I finally managed to get the models and their animations from closed gacha game - Digimon Linkz. I loved this game, played it until it was closed, good thing I saved its data. Although most of the content is taken from the Cyber Sleuth, the game still has unique digimons.

On Devianart I found the long-awaited Blender script for importing animations from the Neptunia Rebirth games + several games on this engine from WWWHHHOOOAAAMMMIII. Although it is not complete and there are errors like flying weapons, but most animations work.

I once again decided to figure out how the painted vertices from the Neptunia dungeons are arranged in order to adapt their work in blender, it turns out that it also has an alpha channel, that is, a color channel for additional painting the texture, alpha - for mixing with another texture.
