I realized last month that my lifelong hatred of vegetables is actually bc any vegetable I enjoy eating I labeled as “doesn’t count” and I defined vegetables as “food I don’t like” which wasn’t exactly setting myself up for success.

^this. People don’t realize what we don’t have out here. There’s no PBS, no NPR, no newspapers. There’s no alternative to listen to. Not to mention the gutting of public rural education. There are many, many systemic reasons rural people vote R. And it’s not (only) bc we think cities are hellholes

I'm in OK, my polling place is 14 miles from my home, and 35 miles from my work. So I vote by mail. I have to apply every year and get each ballot notarized before mailing it. Twice now my ballot has been lost entirely.
