"Hughes is worth 17.4 goals to Minnesota’s goal differential while Rossi, Buium and Öhgren, combined, aren’t close." That just gets stated as a fact? You have no idea what the exact impact will be for either team short or long term in that regard. You have a guess but you presented it as fact.

Marco Rossi on new chapter after Wild-Canucks trade, how he found out: ‘A crazy 30 minutes’
"We all play hockey, and we know it might happen. But I'm really happy for everything Minnesota has done for me," Rossi said.

You're one of the few who in my opinion correctly didn't rubber stamp Hughes as the best player in franchise history. Dman, of course, but Bure is the most talented player the team ever had. Back to back 60 goal seasons and always a gear or three above almost anybody else on the ice.

I'd argue him bobbling that pass on the wall that caused the tying goal was actually worse, if you can believe it. One of the dumbest things I have ever seen. That should have been an easy two pts in reg. Ridiculous.

Yeah, no real response to the silly idea of criticizing good goaltending. You know who is playing piss poor? Calgary. Your description of the Canucks 4-2 start, with a tough road trip that now includes wins over Dallas and the red hot Caps, was extreme and inaccurate as a blanket statement. Cheers

Because piss poor as a blanket statement is a ridiculous way to characterize their play thus far. And you are implying that good goaltending is somehow a problem. Do they have good goalies? Did they make a point of having two good goalies? Should good goalies get you more wins?

You realize they pay their tandem accordingly, right? This is what drives me insane about this market. I don't like how they are winning! Wah.
October 19, 2025 at 9:43 PM
What a silly qualifier. You should have skipped the first part.
October 19, 2025 at 9:33 PM
Don't be ridiculous.
October 19, 2025 at 9:31 PM
Nah, you play this horrendously, have zero points in the first five games, QB the first pp, have 97 and 29 on your team, and make 10 sheets (as Mike Futa loves to say), you deserve every ounce of criticism. You may be able to tell I have him in my hockey pool.

Fair enough. I just didn't see much in the way of praise from the same sources (not saying you) for how impactful he was after the first. He's controversial, no doubt, and has struggled a bit to find his footing early here, but I felt he contributed massively to the win last night.
October 17, 2025 at 6:00 PM
It might be but he was hugely instrumental in that win.
October 17, 2025 at 4:57 PM
Whole team had a poor first. Kane then was arguably the most important element in that win. Beautiful pass on first goal, drew the penalty that led to the second, was on the ice for the next two Canuck goals, then drew the penalty to take the pressure off with DeSmith pulled. +3 That seems good.

Treliving will probably give Sammy a 7x7 deal because he was a Canuck.
July 1, 2025 at 4:18 PM
I don't think Sammy was a key piece under consideration, with all due respect to Sammy. And remember, I'm saying with all due respect.

Exactly.

Why would Edmonton sign him? Probably at the bottom of the list of elements they lack.
June 30, 2025 at 6:04 PM
Not sure if you're serious but he may not score 30 in any of the years of whatever contract he signs.
June 25, 2025 at 8:41 PM
Absolutely agree. They're too afraid to possibly take a step back in regular season. I still believe they bring Marner and Tavares back.
May 23, 2025 at 7:38 PM
He actually said they are the greatest hockey team in the world which is even more ridiculous. Then in a subsequent interview, he said the Leafs are the only team to make the playoffs 9 of the last 11 seasons. Uh, is Tampa not in the league? 10 of last 11 for Bolts.
May 23, 2025 at 7:32 PM
Well, they've stably missed the playoffs the last 5 years. So there's that.
May 16, 2025 at 11:12 PM
Hardly an epic series when one team doesn't score for the final two games and is out in 5. Vegas forward group was atrocious. Cassidy did nothing to adjust. Eichel tried to generate but the rest of them, outside of Smith here and there, was useless. No points in 5 games for Hertl or Barbashev.
