Until very recently, I didn't realize Wrigley's had mascots that were spears.

Saw this textbook illustration and couldn't help myself! Easily could have been part of Victor and Thomas' Arizona trip in Smoke Signals.

These "Roaring Twenties" tumblers had such a fun design, but ten bucks each = too steep of a price. Also had Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks, Ramon Navarro, two different ones of Buster Keaton and Chaplin, Tom Mix, Lionel Barrymore, and John Barrymore.

Got a sketchpad on clearance, so I am trying to draw again. I kinda stopped after getting tendonitis in 2015 and, when recovered, I just never picked it back up... Until now! So I'm gonna do a 5-15 min sketch each day for the rest of the year. 🖊️

Eden Whiteoak's kind of a turd. He doesn't back up Alayne when the family's ganging up on Pheasant, and whines about Alayne being unsupportive when she doesn't respond as he had hoped when reading his new sonnet. I like his shooting star doodle he makes during his writer's block, though!

I had to do some quick research ~30 minutes into watching Jalna (1935). Started the film entirely unaware that "Jalna" was an expansive, hugely popular book series back in the day. So now there's a full page of notes to carry on with my viewing. 🧐

In this household, we believe there was a British penguin and an octopus present during the birth of Christ!

Reported to be nearly 9', but was medically measured at 7' post-mortem. Still, pretty tall! There's a similar photo with Murnau and Lubitsch... 🤍
I wonder if Murnau was the tallest director during the silent film era?
