I think the frustration this season is more in how he seems to be persisting with a unidirectional style of continuously cutting in and shooting from anywhere. He has struggled to link with kerkez. You will rarely see him recycle with kerkez and actually go wider than him, allowing a kerkez underlap

I’ve been saying this, VVD/ali replacement so difficult, could be 3 years before we challenge again. think Semenyo in Jan a must. To your Q, I dunno if guehi solves anything other than depth. But it says a lot club were willing to break bank for caicedo/zubi & still no signing there. CDM crucial.

klopp/gerrard coming in only accelerates things getting worse. theyre jobless for reasons. how do you square the club not signing a CDM for the third summer running, not signing a CB and making poor recruitment decisions at Lb/RB? again not slots fault.. now , should he completely change and ../1

not talkin past another, disagreeing. you say he should be sacked, i say he shouldnt. or at least if he is then based on what evidence, or why, & who to replace? as i said, hes given the players better platform than they have returned. severe underperformance on xG balance, poor recruitment, errors.

Is slot to blame for poor recruitment in the summer? Or for hiring of a set piece coach who was never a set piece coach? Or for individual errors? No. Team is massively underperforming xG balance. He’s given them a better platform than they are returning. And effects of jota rip can’t be measured.

I don’t think the physicality point is based on evidence though? The severe underperformance of xG balance is crazy at the minute. See @dankennett.co.uk . The heads inevitably drop when two goals down then. Hughes got recruitment wrong in players and staff in summer.
