Which they advertise gig apps as side hustles. Upon starting many are given the best offers and often pay more than their job. They quit their job and full-time gig apps. Which after a couple months the apps stop sending good offers. Drivers become very dependent on the app with debt.

Indeed. The fucked part is people often don't realize, gig workers are screwed over A LOT. I'm speaking from experience. I can't do DD, both because it doesn't pay and they have waaaaay too many drivers. I do Grubhub and that barely covers anything. Yet you'll hear people talk shit about it.

Chances are a good amount will go to their drivers. They want drivers online all day destroying their vehicles and not bring home enough to survive. Some drivers outsmart the system. But eventually some get their accounts banned.
