Napping continues, but looking at the colour at the bottom of the pupa, I'd say we're getting close to time to wake up! #monarch #butterflies

I'd say both caterpillars are in the 5th instar now. I can't believe the big guy hasn't started his nap yet!
Some very subtle changes in the pupa that I can see when I use the light on my phone.
I want them to hurry up now - the nights are getting cold! #monarch #caterpillar #pupa #cocoon

#Monarch update! While one caterpillar continues napping, another is going to go missing in the next day or two to start pupating itself.
A third caterpillar appears to be a step or two behind its siblings and is shedding its skin now to enter either the 4th or 5th instar.
