I’m just saying, Google Map’s UI might be awful but at least they have a wheelchair accessible option.

3. RAID-Z

Stands for Redundant Array of Inexpensive Drives. What if we bought a bunch of cheaper, less reliable drives and used horizontal scaling? More data security!

Nowadays most raid solutions are software based raid like the Zettabyte File System (ZFS).

2. S.M.A.R.T. Values

All the tech has to be a little smart nowadays, and Hard Drives are no exception! S.M.A.R.T. values passively track your drive’s health and any failures that the drive experiences.

1. Run badblocks

This utility we’ll help find what sectors of your drive are no longer usable. More sectors = less usable space!!

1. Use off the shelf hardware.

2. Get creative.

Using standard consumer hardware keeps costs low on the stuff that doesn’t matter to let you spend more on what does. I use a $35 crypto mining rig for a server case.

The science is actually pretty cool. Basically the controlled nuke detonation melts one side of the asteroid causing the liquid particles to fall off. This acts like a jet engine to push the asteroid off of its trajectory.
