Too tired to get into it (to who anyway) but cozy content is a manifestation of the severely repressed ID (if you like that terminology, at least people get what I mean) of the succesful in the empty world and even years before AI when it exploded it was a bad sign of where the collective psyche was

People deceive themselves on this because their own aspirations and sense of self have been built on the very myths that sustain this hellsociety; if meritocracy isn't real what does it entail for my career, achievement and various "high status person" certifications bestowed by the institutions

Calling this one out for the NYT for its role in the normalisation in transphobia is kinda beside the point because this is always how it works; there's no bigotry or conservative "idea" that would ever take hold without "liberal"media and institutions legitimising its premises

Like okay but any intellectually honest discussion has to acknowledge the fact enough (most?) artists have been complicit with the shift of "culture" to "everything content" and have always been comfortable with art as a commodity in how it gives them status above the "grey horde"

See while this sentiment isn't too bad in and of itself it just goes to show how utterly extirpated from "the commons" "art" as it is conceived in this society is whitout people even realising. "Art"/creativity as a completely distinct sphere from the everyday/mundane/the necessary
