Studying film in Uni isn’t as easy as it sounds when your professor is determined to hold you back. At first it seems like a petty vendetta, but Oscar soon realises he has a fate worse than F’s. At heart, Oscar is a fundamentally good person. The death of his mum has left him stagnating, but being thrown into adventures with the Doctor forces him to start seeing the good in life again. Whilst he doesn’t always understand what’s going on, he always wants to help. And yeah, travelling with the Doctor might be dangerous—but he’s got nothing left to lose.

When he finds himself adopting a companion for the first time in this regeneration, he’s determined to protect him—even if that means protecting him from himself.
