Again, I’m not familiar with the 787 systems. I have never heard of pneumatic systems causing a control or T/O performance problem.

I don’t know what the system architecture is for the 787, but T/O crashes have happened due to flaps having never being extended before T/O. An MD-80 in Detroit, and a 727 somewhere else. The T/O warning system was found to be inop in these cases. Whatever the cause, it will be found.

Anything is possible, and I’m not going to speculate. With any transport category airplane, the landing gear is not raised until a positive rate of climb is achieved.

I will qualify, never flown a 787. But I don’t have more than 16,000 hrs on 737 & 767 airplanes. I have never, ever seen anything that says you can T/O in Boeing jets with flaps and leading edge devices retracted. There is a warning horn to preclude that happening.
