Yeah, sadly I feel like the "generational leap" we're all used to is just dead. Gotta be something almost totally new to really offer that feeling. Steam Deck was the closest lately, and even that was just "a PC Switch".

As a new Oregon resident as of late 2023, I find it a bit confusing to have so many budget issues while also having $1 billion that is getting "kicked" back to tax payers.

I'm happy for the refund, but if those taxes could pay for the services we need, why do we keep ending up in this situation?

Oddly enough, I would argue that gamergate was more of an inflection point for the country and for politics in general, but overall had very little real impact on games journalism itself. Just my opinion.
