“You’re beautiful,” he said. “You’re supposed to be sleeping,” Ford replied. Tick. They still weren’t on the best of terms. Stanford let him live in their dorm, he tolerated his presence, but they weren’t as close as they used to be. The closest thing to affection between them was when they accidentally brushed hands exchanging dishes. It was nothing like the embrace of their bodies before. Words between them were short and tense. Ma had pleaded with them to work things out between them, but Ford wasn’t ready for that yet. Stan didn’t blame him as much as he used to. But fuck, if it didn’t hurt. He didn’t know how to get through to him. For as much as things had remained the same about Ford, he was a bit different now. The rules of the game had changed when he wasn’t looking. He was playing blind. He just… “I couldn’t sleep,” he murmured. “I was… I was thinkin’.” Ford let out a dry chuckle. “I wasn’t aware you had the capacity.” “You’re perfect,” he breathed. “Everythin’ I ever wanted ‘n more, ‘s all you. I missed you so much, Sixer. ‘m not whole unless you’re wi’ me, ‘n ‘ll take good care o’ you.” His accent thickened considerably as he spoke deep and gravelly into his ear, satisfied with the way Ford shivered. His hands wandered down the spans of his arms, coming to those perfect hands. “So special, so perfect, jus’― lookit you, Sixer. My Sixer.” He interlocked their fingers again to more easily pin his hands to the door, restricting his movement the way he knew he liked. The swell of his belly pressed into the dip of Ford’s own. “All mine, like y’should be.” “You’re certainly― certainly enjoying yourself,” Ford nearly stammered. “How is this taking care of me, e-exactly?” There’s that little stutter. The one he only got for him in bed. He grinned against the shell of his ear, nipping the top and making his muscles jump underneath him, basking in the way Ford’s knees buckled. “ ‘m showin’ you exactly how much I love you. I thought you liked practical examples?” He teased.
