Good news: Governor Ayotte vetoed HB 324, the book ban, and HB 148, the bathroom ban! This is a good reminder: our work pays off. If you were one of the 2,910 people who signed in to oppose the bathroom ban at its first hearing, if you were one of 1,367 people who signed in to oppose the book ban,

These bills will be signed or vetoed in the coming days. The healthcare bans still haven’t started the administrative process, so we still don’t know when they will reach her desk. Leave a voicemail with her office as soon as you can!

We are proud to endorse Billie Butler (@billiethebitter) for state representative, who is fighting for affordable housing, livable wages, quality education for all, gig workers, protecting our environment, government transparency - and of course, LGBTQIA rights!

“Parental rights” have been weapon used to leave vulnerable children at risk. The real parental rights Governor Ayotte should value are those that allow families and doctors to get their children the healthcare they need to live free and thrive.

This Thursday, May 22nd, the full State Senate will vote on HB 148, the bill that would allow any public or private business or organization to organize its bathrooms based on “biological sex” - putting transgender, intersex, + gender nonconforming people at risk. This was never about bathrooms.

Last month, the NH State House passed a budget with major cuts to services like reproductive health centers, the university + community college systems, + increased costs for some, like proposed premiums on Medicaid. They also passed harmful amendments. Email your state senator to oppose them!

This Wednesday, sign in to tell your elected officials that politicians have no business interfering with decisions doctors + families have already made. We know that puberty blockers, hormones, + the rare necessary gender affirming surgery can be life-saving for trans + nonbinary young people.

Anti-LGBTQ+ politicians are making it increasingly clear that they seek to control our bodies and lives to the greatest degree possible. We are working for a world in which we can all be free to be ourselves, far beyond the basic right to use the bathroom we're most comfortable in.
April 15, 2025 at 3:46 PM
Anti-LGBTQ+ New Hampshire State Representatives have added an amendment to the state budget that includes the text of the "bathroom ban" bill that would allow any business to declare that their bathrooms are organized based on "biological sex."

No matter who we are, what we look like, our genders or who we love, we should all be able to find safety in schools and access books that represent our experiences. But certain politicians are using "parental rights" as a weapon to justify outing a student to a family that will then abuse them..
