The text reads "BULLDOG CAPTURES TRAM - Showing every sign of animosity towards the human species, a bull-dog, which boarded an electric tram at the corner of Riversdale road and Fordholm street, Hawthorn, around 11.15a.m. today, cleared the tram of its full complement of passengers, and even compelled the members of the crew to desert their posts. For 10 minutes the animal paced up and down, and its truculence seemed likely to cause a severe traffic block, when relief came in the form of an elderly man, who enticed the dog from the tram by the display of a ragged paper covered parcel, and invitations of "Good doggie, come." Looking somewhat sheepish, the occupants of the tram resumed their seats, and traffic was resumed."

I have found one of the few Carl’s Jr.’s’ which is still open in Clayton South, Australia. An inflatable balloon on the roof advertises ‘Tradie’s Specials’ while 3RRR is piped through the sound system, Joshua Idehen’s “Mum Does The Washing” playing to the empty store interior. For my burger I wait.

Kyneton station has some new mascots: a family of Striated Pardalotes has nested in a crevice in the bluestone wall on Platform 1
A Striated Pardalote (with white eyebrows, a yellow spot in front of the eye, olive-grey backs and a white stripe in the wing, with a red coloured spot at the front end of this stripe, and the black crown absent the fine white stripes) clings onto a bluestone wall at the entrance of a cavity between the blocks where mortar has eroded, where its nest and chicks are located inside. It is located above a dented air vent at a railway station platform in Kyneton VIC.

Included in the haul: the 1956 M&MTB Annual Report, covering Joyce Barry’s initial thwarted attempt at training to be Melbourne’s first woman tram driver

The Trainer-Drivers concerned refused to train Conductresses and were suspended from duty. On the same day Traffic employees at both Depots held stop work meetings to consider the training of Conductresses for driving duties. Services from these Depots did not operate between 10.20 a.m. and 4.15 p.m. Men continued to refuse to train women and on 5th March all Traffic employees attended a stop work meeting to decide the Association's attitude. All services were suspended from 9.30 a.m. to 3 p.m. by this action. The meeting decided to ask Conductresses to withdraw their applications for driving work. The Board had on 1st March, informed the Arbitration Court of the dispute and Mr. Conciliation Commissioner Tonkin heard the Board and the Association on 6th and 9th March when the Association expressed fears that the appointment of women as Drivers would undermine working conditions.
