In the early morning of April 12th, a fairly large part of A23a broke off, the new iceberg has a length of about 18.5 km (~10 NM) and a surface of about 116 km² and is currently drifting east towards the southern point of South Georgia.

A23A has been rotating around itself for a while in the Scotia Sea, but with the start of Fabruary A23B broke apart from A23A. The last few days A23A has started moving north again towards the western part of South Georgia.

Ice situation in the Eastern part of the Antarctic Sound the 24th November. Looks like both icebergs (A80A and A75C) have started drifting east with the southern part of the Antarctic Sound opening up.
