We’re excited to share that the Government of Kenya, alongside our international and regional partners, will be hosting the Fifth International Conference on the Safe Schools Declaration (SSD 2025) on November 25–26, 2025, in Nairobi, Kenya.

This significant event celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Safe Schools Declaration, a vital global commitment supported by 121 countries aimed at safeguarding students, teachers, schools, and universities during times of armed conflict.

Building on the momentum from previous conferences held in Norway (2015), Argentina (2017), Spain (2019), and Nigeria (2021), the Nairobi conference will:

✅ Review the progress made and the challenges faced in protecting education in conflict zones.
✅ Speed up the implementation of SSD commitments at national, regional, and global levels.

✅ Enhance accountability and monitoring systems.
✅ Elevate the voices of children, youth, and survivors in crafting effective solutions.
✅ Adopt the Nairobi Action Plan, which will outline priorities for protecting education in alignment with the 2030 Agenda.
