Howard J. Kaltenbach, born Nov. 3, 1917. My mom’s brother. He fought for democracy not only during WWII, when he volunteered to escort fallen soldiers back to the U.S., but for all of his 91 years. In heaven he’s likely asking why Trump isn’t yet burning in hell. Happy birthday, Uncle Howard!

Spent the weekend in western Vermont - Shelburne & Burlington. Specifically for the Shelburne Museum, 45 acres of art and Americana near Lake Champlain. Great place!
Shelburne Museum - Electra Havemeyer Webb Memorial Building housing European & American Impressionist paintings. White federalist style building with 7 2-story Ionic columns fronting the middle section and 2 colonnades on either side. Tree with orange leaves at right. Fallen autumn leaves covering the ground. Shelburne Museum - Lighthouse once situated north of Burlington, Vermont, on Lake Champlain. Steamboat Ticonderoga behind at left. Stone base, white shell with black door and window frames.
