So I looked back at Spotify after writing this. I didn’t realize Spotify‘s app had updated in the couple years since I stopped using it. Tidal and Spotifly do look pretty different now, though personally I still prefer Tidal’s look.

That confused me too. I ditched Spotify and tried out the others before sticking with Tidal. For better or for worse, Tidal’s app is basically the same as Spotify’s but with a different color scheme and less bloat.

Also, I love that Tidal—a music app—uses their video section for music videos.

Not to defend it, but I‘d also like to point out that game keycards aren’t the same as download codes. You can still loan them out and sell them, they just don’t have the actual game data on the card.

Sorry, I wasn’t trying to call you out specifically, but I think it came off that way. I’m not aware of any other missing gags personally.

Basically. It bothers me when people frame these discussions around missing gags/revealing mistakes because it’s beside the point. The Simpsons is a 35-year-old show and it was framed for a 4:3 aspect ratio. I understand that not everyone cares, but every widescreen TV I’ve used has a zoom button.

Man, we’re really scraping the bottom of the legacy sequel barrel.

Similarly, if you had scenes set in multiple locations, you shoot all your scenes in each location regardless of where the locations appear in the story to minimize travel.

They’re usually shot out of order to minimize expenses and to work around availability. For example, if you have a character who only appears on a handful of scenes, you would want to shoot that person‘s scenes all at once rather than bring them back weeks later.

I can’t speak to that specific model, but I started out with a similar Sony turntable that I eventually sold. Personally, I think it’s important to look for a turntable that offers more adjustablity with the tonearm. Audio Technica makes a starter model for about $200 that I’d recommend.

What confounds me about the purchase is why anyone would want to buy them in the first place. I love SNK (or used to anyway), but I’ve always seen them as being a cult favorite.

After searching around, one thing I saw brought up was increased customer preference for drive thrus over inside dining, which is something I hadn’t considered.

There’s also a whole Snopes article about whether the Wendys salad bar existed, as though were discuss Nessie.

I always assumed the profit margins on buffets are lower since the food needs to be replenished frequently and can only sit out for so long before they have to be thrown away.

They are indeed disgusting and unhygienic too though.

Does anyone remember when people used to refer to M. Night Shymalan as “Shyamalamadingdong?” This has that same energy.

The patch isn’t live for consoles yet.

I haven’t looked into this, but the moon itself could also be causing light pollution which is why stars aren‘t visible on Earth from the bright parts such as cities.
October 31, 2025 at 1:26 PM
To include the stars, the photographer would have needed to expose the film longer which would have caused the foreground to become overexposed and washed out.
October 31, 2025 at 1:24 PM
To expand slightly in case you’re not familiar with photography, the exposure time (how long the camera lets light in) depends on both the size of the aperture and how long light is let in. The moon is in the foreground so the camera needs less exposure time to photograph it.

I had to look at a list of movies, but “The Tree of Likfe“ gets my vote for best movie set in Dallas.

I’m a big fan of Hereditary and got the script when A24 put it out a few years ago. I haven’t read it in a minute, but I recall his character having more screen time than in the finished film. I agree though, I love his performance and his character in the finished film.
October 27, 2025 at 6:03 PM
I agree in general, but I do think technological changes used to be easier to see. There’s only an 8-year difference between the releases of the SNES and the Dreamcast for example.

We do not. We’re a nation of squibs.

It’s also not a recorded pop song the way everythinto else is, so there’s that too.
October 19, 2025 at 3:16 PM
Apologies if this was brought up before, but does that “Hop Little Bunnies” kids’ song that was popularized by Ms Rachel count? The word “stop” is kind of an instruction in this case so I could see why it shouldn’t be included.

Tron’s biggest culture impact is a gag whose punchline is that no one’s seen it. Yeah, I don’t get it either.

This is beside the point, but I was struck by how unprofessional the wording of the second statement was. I’m sure they’re a small company, but there’s a reason companies vet statements like this through a publicist.
