I absolutely agree with you here! When one goes into an establishment where they are going to order/check out at a register, then YOU deserve to be acknowledged respectfully and complete the transaction. Thats different than another human stepping into someone else’s space who isn’t invited. :)

People wear headphones for many reasons. Maybe I don’t want to talk to anyone, good podcast, audiobook, sensory overload. You don’t have a right to talk to someone in public if they don’t want to talk to you. Your perception of rudeness isn’t shared by others.
