Because the state, in a capitalist economy, sees public services primarily as something it has to pay for. In planning the budget it's among the problems that must be solved. The temptation to just get rid of it is always there.

Sure, it can provide useful answers. But it just isn't concerned with truth. In a sense it's almost an abuse of language to call it right or wrong.

This greatly undermines intuition imo, which is is formed by a history of actual interactions with the world. I propose Average Sense (not common sense, common sense at least recognises basic logic)

AI enables students to give the appearance of academic performance without actual learning. Should we then ban of AI in the classroom? Or ask the more fundamental question: why does academia not motivate students to learn for real?

I'm not sure about this. Placing the responsibility on them means accepting their power to ban. How do we control that power? I think instead of begging them to use it the way we'd like, we should reclaim it and accept the collective responsibility that comes with it.

Dans le régime actuel c'est le mieux qu'on puisse espérer. Et ça donne quand même une idée précise de leur vision du monde, des problèmes qu'ils identifient. L'idéal serait bien sûr d'offrir au peuple des moyens d'intervenir quand la direction prise ne convient plus — et c'est bien ce qui est prévu.
