Oh, nice, thanks! Just put in my order. :)

Was trying to order just now but shipping to CA is showing up as $51 for two prints?

I don't suppose you still have any of the Suspicious Lion prints kicking around? Always kind of regretted not picking that one up...

How's the manga? We started watching the (1987) anime a couple months ago and it's... kind of perfect?

All's I know for sure is that they had their B machines on the table and their A machines in the drawer.

Did I ever tell you that we went to see Sleigh Bells when they were in town and they were *SO BAD* that I have never been able to listen to them again? Like, apparently on that tour they decided their fans wanted loud sloppy guitar and nonstop screaming.

I've never actually tried Strong Zero (mostly because of the zero part), but it doesn't matter because Kirin Hyouketsu is by far the best canned chu-hi.

If they imported that stuff I probably wouldn't have a job anymore. _(:3 」∠)_

Hmm... you made me wonder why nobody imports Strong Zero and when I looked it up I didn't find an answer but I did find an article saying they're dropping production of the Strong line... so?

I feel like I hear a snippet of Rainbow in the Dark or whatever every few years and think... hmm, should I? but it hasn't quite taken yet...

Now that you are at last into the animes I keep meaning to recommend you my all-time favorite - Astro Fighter Sunred. I feel like you are one of the few people who would appreciate it as much as I do.

Our local UFO cult! I used to live a few blocks from their headquarters. I don't know if it's still the case but back in the day you could watch their fine religious programming on San Diego cable access most Saturday afternoons. It was literally the funniest damn nonsense.

Wait are you watching Polar Bear Cafe?! It's the best show that nobody we recommend it to will watch.
March 2, 2024 at 5:31 PM
Yes... ha ha ha... YES! You know I love me some Big Challenges.

Haha, ime they don't even really call them manga in Japan most of the time. Most places it's just コミック - komikku. (also, yes, Hokuto no Ken is some damn fine kommiku.)

Definitely heard a few jokes about it from people when we were in Edinburgh several years back (things like, "well as a proper Scot I would try to get the most out of this"), but they have just been playing it up for the tourists?

I literally don't think I had seen *any* until about a year and a half ago. Lynnea and I have been slowly going them since then and they're... almost all good?
January 26, 2024 at 5:43 PM
Hah, weird coincidence - we watched Shadow of the Cat (Hammer Horror) just a couple weeks ago. It was so good! It's like, I went in knowing it was a cat-getting-revenge flick, but not that said cat was just some cute chonky tabby which made it so much better.

There are dozens of us Turlough fans out there! Doz- okay, maybe not *dozens* but... Also, I have decided he fits your criteria since his usual MO was, "but what does it mean Doctor? (aside) and how may I use it to kill you? muhahaha"
December 11, 2023 at 10:40 PM
Hmm... but do you include Vislor Turlough (whose name I definitely had to look up) in that? Because Evil Schoolboy was a pretty top-tier companion.
