I think that because you get a few +/- possessions per game, it could impact the number of scoring chances you have. Hence pace factor could have a slight correlation with a team's Offensive and Defensive Ratings. Am I wrong? Genuine question...

Yeah. Could be that too. But still, efficiency wise, there's not a big difference too (-0.09 eFG%). But can we argue that efficiency has dropped because despite the fact that there is a league average increase in 3PAs (0.395 3PAR vs 0.423 3PAR this year), we notice drop in 3P% (0.366 vs 0.358)?

Is it because their pace is higher this year (100.7, per ESPN's Hollinger) than last year (98.9)?

An interesting question pops into my head as I read your article. What is a "Power Forward" and a "Point Guard"? Brad Stevens used to name 4 positions: Ball Handler; Wing; Big and Hybrid. Others name 3: Ball Creator; Participator & Finisher. Can you please define the positions? Genuine question. Thx
