Christians in the form of the Catholic Church murdered, tortured and subjected far more indigenous people than America ever did. Where’s all your vitriol for them? The Spanish eradicated how many native Americans in South America during colonialism?

And whether or not the Nazi’s quoted US laws isn’t relevant to anything. The US got the ideas for the laws from previous civilizations too. The U.S. laws were influenced by broader ideas of purity, hierarchy, and social control that existed in many societies. /2

Anthropologist Henry F. Dobyns work on pre-Columbian population estimates that north of Rio Grande the indigenous population was 9.8-12.2 million pre-European contact.

So no evidence unless in your world a comic strip meme counts as evidence, 👌 and yes I know you were talking about Native Americans, the high end number is 7m not 50m. Are you an atheist?

Sounds like something you’re just floating to me. I prefer to work in the here and now. There’s plenty wrong with the US in there and now we should be concerned with. We look at history in attempt to not repeat it (or at least I do), not to play some never ending blame game. /2

If you’re going to hold countries accountable for past actions then every country, every religion and every society is guilty. It’s fine if you don’t hold the US in high regard. It’s not w-isms. It’s just historical fact. Where’s your evidence that nazis came to America to learn to be Nazis? /1

Jim Crowe laws have antecedents in the in medieval Europe. Jews were forced into ghettos and such. Additionally, there were blood purity laws in Spain in the 15-18the centuries. /3

That’s not to say 7 million people isn’t horrifying. But let’s stick with reality shall we? The US didn’t invent the displacement and death of indigenous people to fulfill the desire for nation building. The Chinese did this centuries before America. /2

I am the enemy of hyperbole in all forms.
Germany does NOT have active eugenics laws on the books.
You are over stating the number of deaths as a result of manifest destiny. The historically agreed upper number is around 7 million. This not to say that 7 isn’t a terrible number. /1

I love at least half of the people of this country and the core principles on which it was founded and I don’t want to see us suffer these consequences but… Lessons not learned in blood are easily forgotten.

I left twitter about 20 minutes after Ode d’Musk made his purchase announcement.

😂 It’s Sunday shouldn’t you be at your death cult meeting?

There should be mandatory psychological testing done on people at the age of 18. There are some jobs people with those traits should just be barred from. We wouldn’t let a blind person operate heavy machinery. Why are we allowing people with no empathy to lead.

This is why I rally and rail against inheritance and for executive salary caps alongside high rates of taxation on the uber wealthy.

I will never set foot in Florida ever again. My 9 year asks about going to Disney and I nope, we don’t economically support fascist states. Same goes for Texas.

Yes, Einstein in his model of general relativity discussed “warping” space time. After that it started being used to describe FTL travel.

I reset my tax withholding. No more paying extra, and I’ll be paying only what’s owed quarterly from now on.

Yeah it’s a bit different when your kid, brother, mom or dad could be or are in the crowd. I’ve read stories about other countries where gov. Troops defied orders and didn’t shoot protesters when ordered. In most cases their response was “my kid was in the crowd.”
January 17, 2026 at 10:16 PM
I’m not so sure the military or national guard would react the same way towards protestors. They showed the proper restraint when they were deployed in LA.

Those conditions sound very similar to what’s happening here. If ICE is filled with thugs and criminals who I believe have wanted to commit violence for most of their lives. I’m not sure the military has the same types. ICE isn’t large enough to be used against mass protests nationwide.

That’s not entirely true either. There are many modern historical examples of governments falling under the weight of peaceful opposition. Just to name three:

Philippines (1986)
East Germany (1989)
Czechoslovakia (1989)

It’s not movie script thinking. I’m old, my family is gone. It’s having the attitude of sometimes there are things more important than survival.

I think there is a valid legal defense since they’d have no way of obtaining a legal warrant to enter my home. Since I’m a citizen they’d have no justifiable probable cause either. Thankfully I have a mud room so they’d have to get thru 2 exterior doors.

I own a gun, I am not a gun nut. I don’t believe in the 2nd amendment. I do like going to the gun range and doing some target shooting. I never, not even for one second believed I could use my Beretta .9mm to protect myself from the government, but if ICE broke into my house.
