I don't really want to be wading into the conversation but I do believe it's possible to acknowledge the negative aspects of a work without discarding it entirely, which I believe you have done fine.

Easy to say everyone is wrong about something unverifiable. Harder to say something right.

Hi again anime watchers, welcome back to my ironman shield only run, where I'm going to see if I can defeat the inferno with a bunch of slaves.

Do books have to use the medium of text on a page better than they could be portrayed through acting in order to be good books? While the medium has these unique benefits, I don't think that alienates works from being interesting or sophisticated without focusing primarily upon them.

Balatro is a weird beast. Honestly it's not the poker side that makes it like gambling to me, but it leans into that with the opening card packs. A game with the same mechanics could have had a very different, less gambling adjacent theme. It definitely doesn't play itself as much as BallxPit or VS.

I love the roguelike genre, but the influence of vampire survivors has been really negative in my experience. I was really disappointed to find that BallxPit was that kind of game.

www.reddit.com/r/thefinals/... this is the comment I found that talks about generative fill for The Finals art, and that feature seems to be like any other genai image editor www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sp6K...
Maybe they ditched this process for Arc raiders, or maybe it became too mundane to mention?

I think that it's hard to know? 'we may use ai based tools to assist with content creation' is on their steam page, and they claim to use photoshop's generative fill function for the finals, which i would consider genai?
