After many days and lost braincells here is Nara's redesign! I definitely feel like this is more of their style :> I couldn't decide on which jacket to give her so she'll be switching between the two (depending on how lazy I am)

Thoughts about Nara's redesign: I always thought her old design didn't really fit the vibe I was going for when creating her. It still felt too cutesy(?) and I felt as though her colour palette involved too much black so I wanted to add some variation to her clothes. Other changes were made to her spots and hair. I think the yellow didn't mesh well with their grey skin so I added a black outline on it to resemble a yellow banded poison dart frog more (or I hope it does lol). As for the hair, I decided to add some yellow, change up the bangs (the old one really didn't make sense) and made it a bit longer. I also tried to incorporate what I learned when trying to study anatomy since I barely knew anything when I did her first ref sheet and I do think they look more proportional (though I still have a lot to learn). And the background... uhhh- we don't talk about it-

Had some time to draw so here's a rough idea of Nara's redesign. The first two are what I first planned to have her wear but then I came up with the long jacket look while working on it. There's some small changes to the hair & eyebrows too. Other variants are in the replies #wip

I WATCHED THE MINECRAFT MOVIE!!! It was so funny and the people in the theatres were clapping at the iconic lines. I've never had so much fun during a movie + I got the minecraft happy meal :> There was a bee head band you could cut out from the box but it didn't fit lol

I'm going to be completely transparent here with you guys- I missed drawing myself. I know it sounds a bit narcissistic but it's what I was most comfortable with drawing before I got into BC. I'm usually very nervous whenever I post anything BC related, especially if it's fanart. Idk- I think it's because those ocs aren't mine and are characters that many people love. So I get worried that I don't draw them well enough? But I probably shouldn't be too hard on myself since I only recently started drawing those characters. I do tweak my art style a bit so that it fits more with the BC characters but I think it makes me less satisfied with the finished product. Maybe I should try incorporate my usual art style whenever I do draw more BC art. Sorry for ranting- I just felt like I needed to get that off my chest. Aside from that- This drawing took me a good while to finish since my motivation was constantly going up and down. I mostly experimented with colours and rendering so some things might be wrong but I'm still proud of the drawing regardless

I tried writing Nara's backstory but it looks like I'm about to write a whole novel💀 I already wrote 4 lengthy paragraphs of lore and I'm still not done- How am I supposed to summarise all of this without leaving the important stuff out 😭
