Both my boys passed their blue belt test in Karate tonight.
There's something really cool and a unique sense of pride in watching them do this.
Best part is my oldest nearly failed, got some harsh feedback and just said "that's fair thank you". Great maturity for an 11 y/o

Really enjoying #DQ3HD2D. Not my goty but really charming and such a nice change of pace from what we've been playing lately. Son and I game together so I made the mc and 1 party member. He picked the others. Gotta admit I thought the monster wrangler was more offense that it is

My son saw #DragonQuest3 arrived and he's so excited. This is actually his first ever Dragon Quest game. He's played builders, and loves the music/character design and charm but he's never played any of the games. This is going to be a fun weekend :)

Went to a retro game store last weekend with my son. He bought a Yugio fire red for gameboy advance. Get home and it's a rom where someone pallet swapped yugio into a pokemon game. So dumb but he's loving it. Gotta love those little gamer moments.

"Dad DQ3 comes out tomorrow. It's about time to get my slime on!"
Safe to say I know what his most anticipated game for the year is.

I've decided my favorite thing about doing youtube stuff with my son, besides having an excuse to game with him, is that the videos give permanent record of the sweet little voices of my children. As a dad these days go by so fast and I love that I'll have those reminders forever.

Just found out the Canadian Tenors are doing a Christmas show like 20minutes from my house next month. Christmas is always hard for me since my mom died but if I have to listen to Christmas music it may as well be insanely good music.

I think the most interesting thing about doing youtube stuff w/ my son is seeing how much harsher he is as a critic than I am. I think it's more just that he doesn't want to score something super high if it's not perfect but man that kid is tough.

Taking this from a friend on X. 4 games from different systems that made you the gamer your are now? I could name so many others, (ogre battle 64, FFT for example) but these 4 are big for me. I'd toss in earthbound, OG SF but those systems are already represented.

My daughter came down last night. First time ever she had gotten into mom's makeup. I told her she looked beautiful and took this picture. She looked at it and said "oh....um... this was a mistake"

Is it just me or is 90% of retro game shopping looking at a game and saying "oh man this was awesome" then googling it to show your kids and realizing it was just kind of ok?

Putzing around with Legend of Legaia and I can't help but wonder why the hell this style of combat went away. This and Xenogears having a fighting game like combat of chaining abilities and combos is so much more satisfying then "attack w/ big sword". I miss this creativity

Man I haven't touched a videogame in like 3 days. Really struggling on what to play. Think it's because I know I have DQ3 coming next week and I don't want to get too engrossed in something but still, feels weird to take a few days off from gaming.
