Of course, how could I forget
In case people want to hear from someone who works in this general area: do not believe anybody who says they have solved this problem. There are so very many dimensions to why this is almost impossible right now. This thread will contain a few of those reasons, simplified a bit.
This startup claimed it would take your 2D sketches and turn them into 3D models using AI "magic." It turns out that the "magic" is poorly-paid workers in the developing world.

Kaedim's founder was recently in a Forbes 30 Under 30 list for the company's 2D to 3D image conversion. In some cases artists produced the work wholecloth, one source said.

@3ma.bsky.social is a uniquely thoughtful show that's been that way for so long. It's had several hosts, and all of them have been great and kept the show's focus on in depth discussion by well informed folks. There is no one video game podcast that is so consistently excellent, give it a listen!
