It was better for the majority of the season but again when the pressure was on we saw more of the same old Max. When everything goes his way he is incredible but when things don’t, he gets less calculated and more dangerous to battle. Lack of respect to the other drivers maybe.

They are both great drivers no doubt but Hamilton is a more respectful character for sponsors and media relations. His presence in the sport is bigger than just his racing and you can see this with how the Italians are reigniting a love for their historic Ferrari team. I’d pick the classier one

And Russell had a race win taken for being only 1.5kg under. I’m a competition of fractions every dollar counts. The bib trick was found to be okay with FIA. Doesn’t mean it wasn’t used. And no that was only one year and probably didn’t help at all but details matter. Everyone else managed to abide

I think a lot of it was based on the simulator work he did for the team as backup driver. He apparently has a great feel for setup changes on the simulator and they are hoping it translates to the track. Even still it’s a leap of faith to bring any rookie into the big show.

Gave Checo the finger after Checo had dive bombed the inside of him on a corner and then drove him off the road on the next corner. Give it context and it’s not that uncalm.

After 4 years of experience he only scored 30 points in 24 races. He qualifies well but loses positions every Sunday when put under pressure. They see Lawson being close in times after only half a season and see a calmer driver to mold into the next max teammate.

Erm….Yuki was gifted the RB seat by Honda. Lawson worked his way up the formula ranks like everyone else. The Yuki love is adorable but he’s just not that guy.

That was after Checo dive bombed the inside of him and ran him off the track on the next corner. Checo botched his home GP and drove like a fool and Lawson flipped him the bird. Doesn’t seem very a hole like when put in context.

The senior driver dive bombed the inside of him and forced him off the track on the next corner. Only after that did he finger Checo. Checo was having a botched home GP and the stress got to him and he was driving recklessly. Lawson wasn’t the one to nearly drive into his teammate post race Bahrain

I’d agree with that completely. He has the skills and experience but the way he has acted under heavy stress is well known. Also he qualifies well on a Saturday but goes backwards on sundays in the race. They already have checo to underperform on race day
