Retired from the School of Creative Media, CityU of Hong Kong
I moved to NYC for grad school in 1975 precisely because of those dystopian crime movies. "That place looks really interesting," my young and stupid self said. But it WAS interesting. And definitely falling apart.

A fine album. Remember also that it was a fund raiser for AIDS patients and research at a time when the Reagan administration was at its most odiously homophobic, doing absolutely nothing to fight the epidemic. (Fuck that guy forever and a day for this and so much more.)

He looks more presentable with a hat on. Without it, his head is sort of grotesequely large and round, like Charlie Brown in a photorealistic CGI Peanuts animation. Or maybe this:

Best wishes. Coping with AI is hard enough without your institution cheerleading for it. Then there's (gestures wildly) everything else faculty are dealing with now.

Sounds good! What are you doing to fend off Cal State's AI mandate, or are you okay with it? (Loaded question from a stranger, sorry.)

This article was written by a first year college student who recently received a B- in their intro to film class.

And in what dimension is The Dam Busters a "classic" film?

Be prepared for "think" pieces about the corruption of elite education institutions and their coddled faculty. Bari Weiss will see it and say, "Yeah! That's why I needed to start my own edbiz grift!"

Anyone he thinks he can punch down at. The problem is that some of those groups aren't large enough to fill national needs in agriculture, meat packing, etc. But I'm sure Yarvin and the rest can cobble together something workable.

To be fair, he might have been talking about women.

Just about all of us support Effectively Wild's DEI policy, and those of FanGraphs and The Ringer, too.

I also have come to rely on you for streaming suggestions. Forgot about Monarch: Legacy of Monsters and now it's in my queue. Thanks!
