perhaps this is less related than I think... but it also reminds me of discussions I've had with friends about how it feels many men who like "strong women" actually like "women they perceive as strong so they feel even more powerful when dominating them or enforcing gender roles".

I wish I could say I've found it to be bi-partisan. I've seen republican adoptive (and self-proclaimed christian) parents lament the situation... but then imply they'd allow their child to be deported. I've also been told flat out by republicans that I shouldn't be in this country.

What DOES work, in my experience, is using frozen hashbrowns. Season, bind with some egg, oil the machine, waffle.

Most home cooks won't use the huge amount of butter this requires. Not sure the pats she shows melts down to the amount shown filling the wells later. That's critical for browning/sticking. And smoosh the potato before you put it in and spread it otherwise no way do you get full squares like that.
