I was just asked by a former client if I remembered a gift tax return that I prepared for his mother in 2012 when I worked at my previous firm.
God bless him - I couldn’t tell you what I had for lunch yesterday.

When I (eventually) retire, I won’t miss asking, “Did retained earnings roll forward correctly?” in response to “The Schedule L doesn’t balance and I checked everything!”

One nice thing about doing the engagement letter roundup before year-end is that you lock in your next year revenue and projects before the sh*t hits the fan in January. #taxsky

If you ever have a client pay household employee taxes on a FEIN instead of an SSN, you might just want to disengage with the client instead of trying to get those taxes moved to the SSN. It’ll be the highlight of my career if I get this done. #taxsky
