I see it a little differently. Project 2025 was a plan to do everything everywhere all at once. Even if some things are blocked, other things get through. They didn't need the Epstein issue to implement their plan. It was already in motion.

Democrats need to get on top of this issue and stop conceding it to Republicans. Democrats should campaign on paying down our debt "responsibly." Republican tax cuts are responsible for huge chunks of the debt (perhaps most of it?), yet they somehow claim to be "fiscally conservative." Grrr...

Garland was the best Obama thought he could get confirmed considering Republican control of the Senate. If Ginsberg had resigned when Democrats held the Senate majority, Obama could have nominated a strong Democrat (like his other nominees).
