Threads @canihaveyourvandalskin Honestly, it isn't that big a deal and if this is really the hill you want to die on, then you don't have enough problems in your life. Get over it. Being a minority means that it's normal that you're going to be the one having to adjust to the rest of the world rather than the other way around. It doesn't matter if you're non-binary, blind, or a little person. Regular everyday people aren't obligated to go around adjusting their language and behavior to your existence on this earth.

Most wheelchair users are ambulatory

That means that most can stand for short periods, or walk short distances

Don’t make assumptions about anothers’ disability

Don’t EVER touch someone’s mobility aid without permission - it’s not like a piece of furniture- it is an extension of their body

Newsflash: mobility aids aren’t just for people who can’t move—they’re for people who shouldn’t overexert and trigger pain, flares, or fainting. We don’t have to justify our survival to you 👏 Take me for example: if I over exert itll cause a flare that makes my body attack its own organs!!! I’m not going into organ failure bc you’re giving me a dirty look 😘

I got my IUD replaced early, last year

I saw that the shìt was about to hit the fan in Canada too - because we always wanna copy big brother down South

We finally had free birth control under our universal healthcare

But I knew it was going to get taken away - & Mirena IUDs are expensive - $300+
