You could try CharMorph, or Character Creation Figures.
The FBX Figures are looking great, especially the face rig is great.
The interface is a bit clumsy at first.
The down side is you have to make your own clothing.

I recently found this plugin for Blender and I couldn't resist to check out what it has to offer.
The settings are a bit clumsy but I think I get use to it.

As a Poser User myself, I would say that it could be, but with very low settings.
This is made in Poser 13 Superfly render engine.
Poser 11 has it too.
I'm using one light most of the time and I always include shadows for a more realistic look.
