Published by Nicholas Vane in 1948, this scarce volume of Persuasion and Love & Freindship [sic] is from the "Goldfinch Titles" series. Cover is black cloth w/ gilt titling, and the endpages are printed with fashion plates. A must-have for collectors. Currently available w/ thequietcornerbookstore.

An antique handpainted demitasse porcelain cup and saucer. It is trimmed in gold at the edges and painted with tiny blue flowers. It's beautiful. Wealthy and upper middle class / upperclass ladies used to handpaint entire sets of China in the 1920's. It was a status symbol and showed off one's painting abilities. I'm sure it was also meant to highlight that they were ladies of leisure and did not have to work or do housework.

My cognitive function took a HUGE hit when perimenopause hit, and what fills me w/ rage is that every single doctor I talked to when I started losing words & memory, and the ability to do math, read, or hold a thought just blew me off and told me w/ a fucking smile that there was nothing wrong. 🖕🖕

Like dementia, menopause can involve the diminishment of cognitive function. Researchers do not yet know whether this is a coincidence or if a more complex relationship is at work.

Not too terrible for working on a phone screen with muh finger, but I couldn't match that damn background color, not matter how hard I tried...
An antique wedding invitation from which I removed the original text and replaced with a sale announcement. It will run as a promotional image for the sale next weekend, December 5-7. I would rather use Regency-era merchant adverts, but I don't have enough, so I also grabbed some invitations, because they have a similar motifs. I also used script and serif block fonts similar to those of the period. This one reads: #3DaysOfJane250 Purveyors of vintage: books & journals; artisanal papers & ephemera; stationery & journal supplies; linens, lace & other textiles; tea service, silver & china; needlework & crafting supplies; totes, decor, accessories and more. Where do we go from here?
Thoughts about “AI” Yes it’s: The slop The theft The brainrot The loss of work The crumbling of creator rights The destroying of the environment and infrastructure But it's also the destroying of trust in anything that you’re not seeing with your own eyes right in front of you. Wonder now turned to the narrowing of eyes in immediate scepticism seeing something magical. Questioning the realness of everything from a stilted written apology to profound works by students in school. It feels like a slow poison to creativity and humanity at large.
