And it was way too busy. I queued for nearly 3 hours for some demos, and security had to instate a one-way system to control the literal rivers of people trying to get between the halls. Booths were having to tape out extended queue areas into the concourses and were still turning people away.

Loosely trace a subject and then draw/paint over it in an exaggerated manner, something that leans into your specific aesthetic if possible. That way you'll have the basic proportions/pose locked in but you can still get creative and experimental, and the result should hold up and hopefully motivate
