thank you for the replies, im asking cause I recently learned about "thumbnailing" which is when you draw small to get the composition right and its been working for me. i have such a weird journey with art i started so late and i am always wondering if just learned how to draw wrong lmao

technically for the game but i have an issue where i keep drawing stuff that i end up throwing out so im not allowing myself to go beyond sketches and stolen game sprites until i have the scenario fully fleshed out

a controller with a mouse seems so obvious in hindsight it’s so good for crpgs and my map games and also drawing maps on it in etrian odyssey 4 at the moment lmao

also aside from the crit gores the real chain enders are those really buffed up variants of normal enemies that have the black lightning when they spawn in and a title before their name watch tf out for those

ya the xp stock stuff! and yeah it’s a grindy game it’s definitely necessary even if you don’t feel it now you will later on, it’s very disgaea lmao. I recommend just doing some expeditions purely for grinding separate from dungeon progress.

also without going into too much detail theres a system you get later on where you are expected to chain battles and all or nothing them & with how the gore crits and stuff works you risk losing the chain from a few bad rolls if you just attack even if you feel safe which i think was the intention

this was my biggest issue with the game too but i think the donum points acting as a form of mp attrition in a game where you never use mp softened it for me, also the bosses are such an insane difficulty spike comparatively i got whiplash. still one of my favourite games ever
