For the coloring process itself, best analogy is that I kinda treat it like coloring with markers. Lately I've just been using the basic round brush, sometimes I'll dash a little texture or airbrush in there (like on the wings here)

"Fobius the Pentaforged" for @0kem.bsky.social ! Fun guy to draw, also I loved the lore bit of this Iron Warriors warband leader ascending into daemonhood, being all "F this organic bullshit" and replacing it all with machine parts. Hell yea haha

Will add the planview this way. Wish it was possible to adjust Bsky's posting format more, would much prefer to post image sets like this in a vertical grouping without them getting all scrunched into tiny thumbnails!

(I just think it's more fun when these guys resemble their lore more, visually, in that they are fusions of daemon + pilot + aircraft/vehicle. Dragons rule, but the canon designs to me don't really show this.
Maybe that's some sort of end-stage, where it no longer resembles what it came from)

This one is based on a Xiphon interceptor, and kind of exists in that in-between stage of fighter and the draconic look the canon designs have

Had to do a little digging because that image has been reposted a zillion times, but I found a 20 year old webpage (!!!) that confirms this is old skool, it's from the G1 dreamwave comics!
I've only read the IDW ones so it wasn't registering in my memory
